COMPANY HISTORY
We are proudly celebrating our 50th year in business in 2006. Founded in 1956 by Ralph W. Potter, the company´s primary services then offered were farm, acreage and residential sales. Though now retired, Mr. Potter continues to be an active member of our community.
Throughout his professional career he volunteered on numerous community projects, served as the mayor of Marion,
and as a state senator representing the greater Marion area. After leaving the real estate business, he served as the district director for the Small Business Administration, until his retirement in 1989.
Current Management
Boyd Potter joined the family owned real estate business in 1973 and became the owner/broker in 1980. He continues to serve as the designated broker of the firm and is active in every facet of the business. Boyd has been active in the community throughout his professional career. He has served on numerous community project committees, volunteer service including the board of directors of the YMCA, serving 26 years on the Marion Planning & Zoning Commission and continued service as a 20+ year member of the Linn County Regional Planning Commission.
Continued Growth
 We are proud to say our family-owned business now boasts a third generation of involvement. Charlie Potter joined the firm in 2001 as a realtor associate and owner of Potter Custom Homes. While offering complete, personal service to all of his real estate clients, Charlie is the general contractor/owner of Potter Custom Homes, building to the unique requirements of each customer. Our company currently offers complete residential, farm and acreage sales, commercial property sales and acquisitions, limited property management, and consulting in the areas of land development, property annexation and rezoning issues.
